On January 25, 2025, Walailak University President, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, officially opened the 8th WU HAPPY FUN RUN. The event, themed “A University that Cares for Health, Free from Cigarettes, E-cigarettes, and Drugs,” aimed to promote physical and mental well-being. The 5-kilometer route was designed to familiarize students with key campus locations while fostering a sense of community. Approximately 1,500 students and staff participated, demonstrating a collective stance against smoking and drug use. The event, which achieved a 92% satisfaction rate, reinforces the university’s commitment to becoming a completely smoke-free campus and promoting a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise.
